App Store screenshot sizes for iPhone, iPad and Mac

Every number on this page comes from Apple’s screenshot specifications in the App Store Connect help, checked in October 2026. Apple adds devices every year, so check that page before a big upload.

The rules for every platform

iPhone screenshot sizes

Apple groups iPhones into display classes. You upload one set per class, and a class you skip borrows the set from another one (the “falls back to” column).

Landscape screenshots use the same sizes with width and height swapped, for example 2868 × 1320.

Which iPhone sizes you actually need

Apple requires at least one screenshot for the medium Dynamic Island display. It also requires the Face ID large display unless you provide the Dynamic Island large display. In practice, two sets cover every iPhone:

  1. 1320 × 2868 (or 1290 × 2796), the large Dynamic Island display.
  2. 1206 × 2622 (or 1179 × 2556), the medium Dynamic Island display.

Every other class falls back to one of these two.

iPhone Duo

iPhone Duo has two screens, so it gets two classes: the outer screen at 1398 × 2034 and the inner screen at 2007 × 2853, both in portrait. Apple says these become required starting April 2027 for apps built with the iOS 27.1 SDK or later, and that providing them shows a badge on your product page.

iPad screenshot sizes

If your app runs on iPad, App Store Connect requires a set for the 13-inch display. The smaller classes fall back to it.

DisplayPortrait sizes (px)DevicesIf missing, uses
13-inch (required)2064 × 2752
2048 × 2732
iPad Pro (M5, M4, 6th to 3rd gen, 1st gen), iPad Air (M4, M3, M2)—

11-inch1668 × 2420
1668 × 2388
1640 × 2360
1488 × 2266
iPad Pro (M5, M4, 4th to 1st gen), iPad Air (M4 to 4th gen), iPad (A16, 10th gen), iPad mini (A17 Pro, 6th gen)13-inch
10.5-inch1668 × 2224iPad Pro 10.5-inch, iPad Air (3rd gen), iPad (9th to 7th gen)12.9-inch

As with iPhone, landscape iPad screenshots swap the two numbers: 2752 × 2064, 2732 × 2048 and so on.

Mac screenshot sizes

Mac apps need at least one screenshot, and every Mac screenshot must be 16:10. Apple accepts exactly four sizes:

Size (px)Aspect ratio
2880 × 180016:10
2560 × 160016:10
1440 × 90016:10
1280 × 80016:10

Use 2880 × 1800 if you can. It’s the sharpest, and it’s exactly what a 1440 × 900 point window captures at on a Retina display. A plain screenshot of a MacBook’s full screen usually isn’t one of these sizes, because modern MacBook displays aren’t 16:10 at native resolution. Either crop a full-screen capture to 16:10, or capture a window you’ve sized to 1440 × 900 points.

If you capture single windows, see how to take a Mac screenshot without the shadow. The shadow adds a transparent margin, which App Store Connect rejects.

Which device made my screenshot?

A screenshot taken on a device, or in that device’s Simulator, comes out at the device’s native pixel size. That size tells you the device, and the display class it uploads to.

Several devices share a size. The iPhone 17 Pro and 18 Pro, for example, have the same screen. So a size narrows it down to a display class, not always one model.

What goes in the screenshot

Apple’s App Review Guidelines (section 2.3.3) ask for screenshots that show the app in use, not just a title card, login screen or splash screen. Captions, backgrounds and device frames around a real screenshot are common on the App Store. Most top apps put the screenshot inside a frame and add a short headline above it.

If you frame your own screenshots, the size table above is the one that matters. FeatureFrame reads a screenshot’s pixel size, picks the matching iPhone or iPad from the same table, and frames it in a 3D model of that device, exporting up to 4K. You can also browse every frame in the device frame library.
